Due to fluctuations in the performance of individual investments, investing in a single asset class rarely meets investors’ objectives. However, a solution that actively invests across multiple asset classes can adapt to changing market conditions and help to spread risk. The Horizon Multi-Asset fund range consists of five purpose-built funds designed to match five typical attitudes to risk or risk profiles.

Each fund is managed with the aim of remaining within its respective risk profile. The funds invest in a number of underlying funds which in turn hold a mix of assets including equities, bonds, property and cash. The higher the risk profile of the Horizon fund, the higher risk of the underlying funds it invests in.
The five risk profiles, on a scale of 1 to 5, are built using EValue’s long-term Strategic Asset allocation model, designed with a focus on delivering investment outcomes to meet specific investor needs. The overall impact of investment term should be considered when selecting a client’s risk profile. The calibration of the risk profile to a client’s preferred investment term can be reviewed using the EValue risk assessor tool. The EValue risk assessor is available in the Financial Advisor section of the Advance by Embark platform. We recognise that you may use several different profiling tools and risk profiling methods, and with that in mind, we have also mapped the funds to other models. Please note that the funds are managed to the EValue 1-5 scales, therefore the mapping to other tools could change over time.
The range of underlying funds are managed by Columbia Threadneedle, with Embark Investment Limited, trading as Horizon by Embark, overseeing the overall management of five portfolios. Embark Investments Limited is compliant with the CFA Institute Asset Manager Code of Conduct.

The value of investments can go down as well as up, so your client could get back less than they invested.
The value of funds can fall and rise purely as a result of exchange rate fluctuations. Investments in newer markets, smaller companies or single sectors offer the possibility of higher returns but may also involve a higher degree of risk.
You can invest in the Horizon Multi-Asset Funds on eight different platforms at the present time: Advance by Embark, Embark Platform, Aegon cofunds, Aegon Retirement Choices, Aviva, Transact, Standard Life Elevate and Standard Life Wrap.
